Arnprior's Mayor on the cover of the "City" section Monday, March 23, 2009.

-8˚C/+18˚F @ 3:11 AM

Sigh.

Continuing with Sunday: On a more pleasant note, I did finally get through to my friend in Vermont who had a birthday on March 5th. We did some heavy duty catching up. Her son is in Thailand and just got his visa extended to stay there a little longer. Her daughter is in New York City, working as a private secretary to a celebrity you’ve probably heard of, {but I’m not about to name drop here}. One fun thing about talking to my friend was learning that her mother listens to coast to coast a.m. and reports back about aliens and government conspiracies etc. My friend sounded  quite astonished about that.

And… the photo here is of Mayor Terry Gibeau {{“Jee-Boe”} of Arnprior, who has been interviewed by area media and been on radio, teevee and in the newspapers (This is the Ottawa Citizen again) recently, complaining about the high profile process of the Canadian Federal Government bragging about how many millions they are pumping into ‘Shovel Ready’ projects to stimulate the economy, But this government(*) is a whole lot better at bragging than actually coming through and ‘putting their money where their mouth is’. They found a inflatable water slide technicality to skip over Arnprior in their highly visible, “Look what we’re doing for you!” campaign. Then they reported back to the local town government that there still is a bunch of money in this programme and if we play nice, we might even get some… {{ (*) and when a Canadian says, “This government” they refer to the last prime minister elected and his or her cabinet and all the ‘ministers’ who would be called ‘Secretaries’ in the states. {{so instead of the Secretary of Labor, up here they would call that person the “Minister of Labour” and they are still mystified about what “Americans” do with all their “u”s, I tell them they use them all up shouting “USA-number One, USA Number One…” ad nauseum without stopping  to thing about what they  are number one in or at. ((Heaven help them if they find out…)) }}

So, there is nonsense afoot. There is always nonsense afoot in the world of politiks…. but I got to talk to my friend on the phone, and we saw other friends earlier, and the news filtering in through sources like “Coast to Coast AM” (‘google it’….) and more direct communication with the forces of light, who are here, have always been here, only needed us to yell “Help!” a couple times… (you should do that often… think about Archangels and Saints and all sorts of other good guys from ‘up there’ or ‘beyond’ or wherever they’re waiting, and think, “We could sure use your help…” yup.

Catchyalater….

Sunday slipped past us, sort of….

Ottawa Citizen Feb 20 2009Sunday, March 22, 2009. Cuzzin Debi’s birthday. (but also) : Cathi’s and my Anniversary (Has it really been 7 years? Should I worry that I’m not itching???)

Um, I think it got above freezing….

got up and zoomed to the studio at 10 am to see what was going wrong with today’s playback. DVD player was frozen, I had to shut it off and restart it, then everything went fine. Cathi was pissed when I was making noise that early this morning… when she could sleep in.

Oh wait a minute. “Pissed” means drunk in Canadian and UK English. She was not drunk.

Pissed means upset, angry in USAtian English, she was grumbling.

Okay- today’s photo. the front page of the Ottawa Citizen on Friday, February 20, 2009. Barak Obama with the Governor General of Canada. The Governor General is actually the head of state here. The Prime Minister (In Harper’s case) is just the chief egotistical manipulator who believes he’s in charge.

Tonight’s news on CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Company) was talking about a derisive newsclip from Fox News that is now making its rounds on YouTube, in which, among other things, some asshole is saying (about Canadians fighting in Afghanistan) “They’re in the war? I didn’t know they’re in the war, I thought Canada was where everybody goes when they’re too chicken to fight.” or something similar- that’s the intent we got.

But anyway, cheer up fans of truth in reporting. B.S. like that is becoming more and more transparent all the time. We ARE evolving faster than the fear mongers and war mongers can keep up with us. This is their last gasp, kiddies, we might bouncy castle for sale as well laugh them off their high horses in the hopes they go home and drink themselves to death, or something along those lines.

No, I’m not mad. And I’m not sitting here smuggly looking forward to their demise. I am a bit frustrated thinking that these idiots think they can still maintain control over the hearts and minds that are slipping through their fingers a little more every  day.

Sigh, it will get uglier before it gets better.

Saturday, Weird dreams (volleyball with half translucent kids?)

Cathi Couch Dog OrbSaturday, March 21, 2009.

+3˚C/+37˚F @ 12:42 pm.

Cathi on the couch with dog who is all teeth and an orb. Weird green glowing dog eyes may even be focused on the orb.

Weird dreams: moving around at work, we were given long curved things that looked like plastic fingernails, probably about 4 inches long, and when we reached our new duty station someone, usually a woman, would take the fingernail kind of thing and insert it into a time clock, then hand us a bunch of change and throw the finger nail type thing away. Upon close inspection the change we’d been handed was all sorts of odd sized stuff, very tiny dimes, and a lot of square coins that had reproductions of Canadian and US designs and all had Disney’s logo on them. Then we were playing volleyball with rolled up towels instead of balls. The championship team was bored with the game and they were just bouncing the towels to each other with their heads. When their game was over somebody hit one of those towels to me and when I was able to bop it with my closed fist a couple of the guys on the championship team were structure gonflable impressed. And it looked like we were going to have a game right then and there, and that’s when I noticed the child who was half see-through translucent (the lower half?) and  I told him that, “Hey- you’re partly invisible…” Then I followed the progress of a young woman (a thin blond in a tennis dress) who went outside, walking along a sidewalk in what looked like a suburban setting. She walked up to a parking meter and chose a set of headphones, put them on her head and lay down in the grass. As she listened to music a nurse came along and gave her a shot of some kind of drug to make her sleep. I was appalled….

Our House about an hour ago.Saturday, March 20, 2009. (Dona Flynn’s Birthday?)

0˚C/32˚F @ 6 pm  in Arnprior.

To the left (or above left?) is a photo of our house as it was about an hour ago.

We also have some photos of Jassper and Cathi on the couch tente gonflable last night, but speak of the devil… the dog is barking to be let in. It’s past supper scoop time and I think he’s afraid we’ll never feed him again.

I’ll be back.

…Guess who needed his peanut butter fix?

(I’ll give you a hint…. “Booof-  booof-“)

If it’s Thursday, we must have survived Wednesday…

Jassper 10 months ago.Thursday, March 19th, 2009.

+2˚C/+36˚F at 4:55 am (weather network thinks it’s 1˚C) & I think it’s supposed to get cooler as the day goes on.

Today’s photo is Jassper about ten months ago, before he decided he wants to be Arnprior’s first five hundred pound Labrador Retriever.

But then again, he also tries to spend a lot of time about three feet above the ground, especially when either Cathi or I come home.

I think I said in an article about two weeks ago that he can ignore commands in two aufblasbarer wasserpark languages? Ignoring “Jassper, stay on the ground-” just might mean he can ignore the law of gravity, too.

It is a Warm, promising day in Arnprior.

(They were threatening us with rain earlier, but it looks pretty good now.)

I’m at work, waiting for Monday night’s {recorded} and the past two days {edited} town council meeting to upload/dump to the hard hüpfburg mit rutsche drive so I can trim it and name it and set up tonight’s playback.

Tuesday, St Patrick’s Day

Posted by Jim - March 17th, 2009

Wood NymphTuesday, St Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2009. (Cousin Rick’s Birthday)

O˚C/32˚F @ 11:11 this morning.

Got warmer later.

Somewhere, on another page in my web site I have the graphic image to the left and a caption like “One of our neighbours… yeah right-”

It was a beautiful day today. If I didn’t have so much to do in the studio I would have been out and about shooting digital stills with one or both cameras. It was that nice out.

I forgot to call my cousin Rick again- Schnarrrr-

Supervisor came down for his weekly visit. I mentioned something from a 1960s/70s teevee show, he was aufblasbarer wasserpark amazed he could remember something from that far back and he told me I had an amazing memory.

sigh.

I should ‘publish’ this and get on to something else, like flop into a coma for a couple hours so I have enough energy to get back to work and finish editing video and upload schnarr for airplay tomorrow.

beam beam beam, good meditation last night. beam beam beam.

Sunday slipped away

Sunday, March 15, 2009 (the ides of?

Melting snow I think the temperature reached something like +3˚C/+38˚F?

anyway. I got up and went to work, spent something like seven and a half hours concentrating on stuff that had to get done, did stuff, set things up, went and picked up a volunteer who needed me to check her hours and sign a form for her… blinked a couple times and gasped. I wondered if I got anything done at all.

Upon further reflection, of course I did- but I was so freakin tired I hardly knew my own name.

I took the photo to the hüpfburg mit rutsche right or above right on Saturday the 14th.

Saturday evening was interesting.

I better go make sure the dripping coffee I hear is going into the coffee pot and not all over the place. It sounds weird.

Saturday Morning, 8 o’clock.

Me on a web cam ten minutes ago.(Sounds like A Simon and Garfunkle Album Title)

Saturday, March 14, 2009. (“Pi” day, an officially recognized unofficial holiday in ‘the States’) (being as close as a date can get to the value of Pi) (and we don’t mean lemon meringue) It might also be Dana Delaney’s birthday too, she’s right around now, the 13th or 14th. My friend Larry’s the 12th and so is a friend’s daughter (Chelsea) and James Taylor’s and Barbara Feldon’s. I’m thinking if most people have something like 640 megs of memory, either I got 650, or maybe I allocated the blocks a lot differently so I can remember a lotta things that don’t matter to most people. So a lot of people’s birthdays are stuck in my memory, you don’t have to be famous for me to remember you.)

-7˚C/+19˚F at 7:59 am.

I sent my first submission/article to Triond about ten minutes ago. I signed up last May. I guess maybe it takes me a while to warm up to an idea, huh?

Jassper looking cute, but spoiling it.& except for the tongue, I thought this was an amazing photo of Jassper, the puppy horse. (on the back porch, looking uncharacteristically intelligent and sensitive.

I’ve been driving around with my camera, hopping to capture some optimistically hopeful first photos of spring in Arnprior, here- instead taking more photographs of pets and then fiddling around with my web cam, trying to capture the ‘real me’. (should I laugh derisively about that?)

I have a real good cropped shot of Jassper’s eyes staring at me as I typt this in the composing window of Word Press here.

&& I think I found the password for the other WordPress account, the one that’s hosted on WordPress’ site. (and is free 🙂 )

(woke up before with a headache. allergies or sleeping funny or both.)

The sun is shining and the neighbours (across the church parking lot and the road over there to my left) have their solar powered walkway lights just barely peeking above the snow pile these days.

Winter is receding into our memories again. brrrrrrrrrrrr- may it take all memory of the words ‘recession’ depression and panic with it.

amen,

Friday, I started this at 7:30 am…

Friday, March 13, 2009.Bed Room Shelf

-18˚C/0˚F @ 7:30 am.

I took the boy to school, then got distracted, put a shelf into the counter top computer table in the bedroom and did a couple other things and got the boy from school and collapsed into a coma and here we are.

Cathi picked up her new glasses and looks very cute…

…Um, Dreamed a couple bears got in the house and one was hugging me, I wondered if there was some intent to harm or just an over zealous wish to hug. ( I did have a photo of Jassper on the Porch this morning that looked very black bear like.)

Cathi's New Glasses& this is Cathi in her new glasses.

Last night on Coast to Coast AM. somebody was talking about the toxic properties of Aspertame. Apparently, when you eat something with equal in it, or drink any one of a dozen brands of diet soft drinks, some nasty chemical reactions happen, including formaldehyde. One person called in and said she’d had wicked headaches when she tried to quit aspertame that didn’t go away and after 12 days of cold turkey, she gave up and the guest said it takes 60 days to clear your body from toxins in aspertame and that the formaldehyde never goes away. Hyper-sensitivity to food hüpfburg mit rutsche additives may stick with you for a long long time, too. (also, if you’re trying to get away from aspertame, you have a major problem because, for instance, vanillan, an artificial flavoring, has aspertame, lots of yogurt has aspertame in it.)

(eeep)
