Wednesday in the Garden of Earthly … whatever….

Posted by Jim - June 19th, 2013

Wednesday, June 19, 2013. I think it might be Kyle G.’s Birthday. 6˚C / 41˚F @ 6:30 am. (( more like 15˚C / 59˚F @ 11:30 am. ))

The Orange cat is threatening to shred my bare foot.

—okay, the cat is outside in his cat run ( cage ) the dog’s on the floor looking worried about all the boxes that have appeared in the living room.

—Funny how the de-cluttering process makes for a much bigger mess than you started with.

—We bought a bundle of 25 small boxes yesterday. Several of them are set up and taped at their bottom(s?) and are partially filled with ‘stuff’ in a thematic sort of way. Argh, now I’m wondering what I did with the receipt. ack, it’s got to be here somewhere.

—So, after a night of walking around in circles like a zombie, trying to decide what to put in which box, I think I realized I just sat and stared blankly for half an hour or so, at the oddly sand castle like arrangement (mess) of boxes that have grown in the living room.

I sighed and wandered over here to my G3 iBook with 640 megs of sd ram. I’m connecting to the internet through a version of firefox that nobody remembers but me (v 1.5.0.12) ((which was probably the last version you could left click to open a new window dialog box instead of the insidious right click that became the isidious ‘default’ from this version on. I think this version is so old and/or obsolete that it doesn’t even bother telling me I really should update/upgrade. heh heh heh…)) ((( the version of word press is also an oldy. it wants me to upgrade/update every time I log in to do anything inside it. ))) As soon as I sat down at the computer the cat insisted it was my job to do nothing but pay strict attention to and cater to the cat. (((( so now I’m hoping I don’t forget he’s outside in the cat run when I collapse into the dream realm and lose touch with this ‘consensus’ reality. ))))

—Ack, the iMac is complaining that a usb device isn’t getting enough power, I should plug it into a power source? but it didn’t tell me which bleeping USB device is not getting enough power.

—oh yeah, and the plant we got for our prosperity corner is wilting.

— aaaaaaaaaaaa——

Clever Rachel Otterson & Game Of Thrones Ascent

Posted by Jim - May 27th, 2013

Well (I found my password)

This is the first time I reviewed a “Social” Game. (Like the bunny rabbit needs help planting his carrot patch or something like that, games on facebook etc.)

Hey hey hey! Game Of Thrones Ascent is not a 3D world you can run around in, explore, go eyebulb to eyebulb with a fairly realistic cartoon character and try to slice his (or her) head off with a sword that looks way too big for any mortal to wield-

But it is engaging. The graphics are knock down gorgeous (You don’t see naked people running around stabbing each other with swords or ‘swords’. You solve puzzles and face battles through pop up/drop down windows, make choices, face consequences, worry about your wounded loyal knights and agents and watch a fascinating story unfold on your computer screen, right there in front of your burning bloodshot eyes.

I think the number of registered users just went above 1,000,000 last night.

You can play it on facebook or Kongregate or go right to the developers website. (http://www.disruptorbeam.com) .

I did have a problem getting the ‘Friends’ needed for many of the quests while playing on the Disruptor Beam site but ‘clever’ Rachel Otterson went in and read forums and found a User-submitted ‘tutorial’ and then figured out how to actually make friends while playing on the developers’ site.

(( I needed google chrome to find a user ID as part of this, I followed her instructions and my poor friendless Hedge Knight turned ‘Noble’ was no longer friendless.))  🙂

I should have her write a ‘how to’ article about this process and then figure out where to put it.

Maybe I should put a page up here or somewhere with clever solutions to all the confusion I felt while playing this beautiful game.

Let’s see if I have enough left over energy to do that in the next couple days.

& hey— It works on a Mac.

Rainy Sunday

Posted by Jim - March 29th, 2009

Rain on the windshieldSunday, March 29, 2009.

+6˚C/+43˚F & raining @ 6:51 pm in Arnprior.

I was all psyched for a morning at the flea market. But then it was pouring rain. (schnarrrrr) but the Yurt couple were there and I ended up talking to them for an hour and a half.

This photo was taken around 5 pm. When blown up (or pre-shrunk down?) it is nicely warped by rain water running down the windshield.

Melanie is singing “We’re not in Kansas, no more-” 🙂

Work stuff was better than anticipated. The cleaner had been there and the church service was waiting in the in box.

((We had ice cream {step daughter, step son and me} before I went to to work.))

Learning new stuff on the iMac -/- began a database for tracking work projects for Indigo S.C.

And it’s my moon day (moon was at this degree of aries when I was born).

—Pas de Schnarr?
