A Poem Entitled “Road Kill”

Posted by Jim - March 7th, 2016

Road Kill

(cows wag their tails

in time with Peter Gabriels’s

“Games Without Frontiers”

And I begin to wonder

if I’m feeling really good

or lost touch with something

like ‘consensus reality’

whatever that is…)

(I drive for a living

deliver newspapers

on a two hundred and fifty mile loop

through rural finger lakes new york

and the stereo keeps me grounded

reminds me I haven’t really

left the Earth of my childhood

There’s a woodchuck

he’s been sitting every day

for the past week

beside the body

of his friend

      (or lustling?)

‘Smack dab in the middle of the road’

‘Possums die so ugly

every one of them

looks like it’d been dragged for miles

then tortured hideously for hours

but woodchucks look so peaceful

<like they’re sure they’ll be

with their splattered friends

and lovers>’

I guess I’d rather

be a woodchuck

sitting in the road

hoping an eighteen-wheeler

does it right the first time

[ instantaneously ]

(I think there just might be a conspiracy

to cover all of new york state’s roads

in fur-

but, like most bureaucracies

‘they’ can’t agree on a time table

so by the time they add a third pelt

the first and second have blown away

Wednesday in the Garden of Earthly … whatever….

Posted by Jim - June 19th, 2013

Wednesday, June 19, 2013. I think it might be Kyle G.’s Birthday. 6˚C / 41˚F @ 6:30 am. (( more like 15˚C / 59˚F @ 11:30 am. ))

The Orange cat is threatening to shred my bare foot.

—okay, the cat is outside in his cat run ( cage ) the dog’s on the floor looking worried about all the boxes that have appeared in the living room.

—Funny how the de-cluttering process makes for a much bigger mess than you started with.

—We bought a bundle of 25 small boxes yesterday. Several of them are set up and taped at their bottom(s?) and are partially filled with ‘stuff’ in a thematic sort of way. Argh, now I’m wondering what I did with the receipt. ack, it’s got to be here somewhere.

—So, after a night of walking around in circles like a zombie, trying to decide what to put in which box, I think I realized I just sat and stared blankly for half an hour or so, at the oddly sand castle like arrangement (mess) of boxes that have grown in the living room.

I sighed and wandered over here to my G3 iBook with 640 megs of sd ram. I’m connecting to the internet through a version of firefox that nobody remembers but me (v ((which was probably the last version you could left click to open a new window dialog box instead of the insidious right click that became the isidious ‘default’ from this version on. I think this version is so old and/or obsolete that it doesn’t even bother telling me I really should update/upgrade. heh heh heh…)) ((( the version of word press is also an oldy. it wants me to upgrade/update every time I log in to do anything inside it. ))) As soon as I sat down at the computer the cat insisted it was my job to do nothing but pay strict attention to and cater to the cat. (((( so now I’m hoping I don’t forget he’s outside in the cat run when I collapse into the dream realm and lose touch with this ‘consensus’ reality. ))))

—Ack, the iMac is complaining that a usb device isn’t getting enough power, I should plug it into a power source? but it didn’t tell me which bleeping USB device is not getting enough power.

—oh yeah, and the plant we got for our prosperity corner is wilting.

— aaaaaaaaaaaa——

If it’s Tuesday this must be….. uhhhh…

Posted by Jim - June 18th, 2013

Good Morning. It’s like 5:50 am here in the great green north. 8˚C / 46˚F slightly west of Ottawa.

I have a splitting headache and at least one of my computers is going nuts.

((( I have several computers. The justification is that I’m working on building an interactive ‘game’ world. I wanted to be sure people who were not gazillionheirs could connect and have fun. Well, they probably can’t, as the company who owns the ‘cloud’ keeps ‘upgrading’ ‘to make your gaming experience more enjoyable’ (but if truth in advertizing really surfaced they’d be saying, “We keep moving the entry level bar up two notches higher than you can reach so we can laugh at you when you fall and keep you scrambling as a slave to make more money so your government can take more of it away from you so you can experience more and more frustration and never get what we promised you, nyaaaaaa-“) )))

The 32 bit windows machine, running XP Professional, has been acting weirdly lately. The firefox browser just closed, pfffft, disappeared- and when I clicked on the icon to reopen it I was informed that windows could not confirm the author of that program so I should click here to let their spying applications search through everything on my computer and throughout all my links to the internet so they could trace all possible threats to their power. (( No, that’s not exactly what they said, but I had a gut suspicion that that’s what they meant. <<< & the spell checker likes ‘suspicion’ but it doesn’t like “Nyaaaaaaa” ??? >>> ))

So while I have a splitting headache, the pain in my neck and shoulder seem to be absent at the moment.

Cheer up, life does get interesting.

And my angels have promised me that it’s getting better for me and Cathi. This is the first day of the rest of your life and all that…”

Yooks Yike We Be Movin….. (Yikes?)

The Move is On

Sunday, June 2nd, 2013.  22˚C / 70˚F in the Ottawa area (from two different sources) (It’s nowhere near as Muggy  as yesterday here—)

A young boy thought I looked like Gandalf in “The Hobbit” yesterday. Last March a slightly drunk young man called out to his friends, “Hey look, it’s Dumbledoor!”

(Ouch, my neck-)

So, we didn’t know for sure until Wednesday whether we would actually be moving or not. Cathi had a job offer, & the Department of Fisheries and Oceans up here is hurting for people with her knowledge and expertise, && they wanted her there by New Years day. Um, it took them until most of the way through May to get the actual job offer in her hands and wanted us to move about a thousand miles and be ready for her to start by like, tomorrow? And then a mix up in the details of how they were going to help us move had Cathi ready to flip them the bird and call out something like, “In your dreams, Ice Holes!” But the guy who knew what he was doing, unlike most guys who know what they’re doing, was at the top of their food chain and he diplomatically whacked the person on the wrist who had told Cathi that she wasn’t going to get much help getting there.

We had a Real Estate friend come over with a chain saw and a branch pruning pole and, in yesterday’s heat, cut back some bushes, loaded a bunch of shrub prunings onto his trailer and turned my forehead red from exposure to sunlight, (I didn’t blush it this colour.)

No- we don’t live in igloos up here year round. Yes, Canadians with European colouration do get sunburns when we’re halfway to the North Pole.

———And, man, do I have a lot of dreams to tell you about. (If it’s tomorrow there are probably several of those dreams either above this message or pr-dated to get them below, closer to where they actually happened.)

——— (Busy up North),

Still Here-

I’ve been fighting a really nasty cold for the past three weeks or more.

Interesting news about the future?–

Earth may hit a fork in the road in the near future. The “New Heaven and New Earth” theory:

Many of the more altruistic and ethical, moral people among us will move to the “New Earth”- move into a phase of existance that looks like ‘here’ but is actually a slightly higher dimension.

The greedy and power crazy will stay on the “Old Earth” and go through all sorts of trials and tribulations that the New Earth will not have to experience.

Coast to Coast Ayem (A.M.)

Posted by Jim - July 25th, 2009

July 24, 2009.

Coast to Coast AM (for the un-initiated) is a nightly radio program that deals with a lot of ‘fringe’ subjects and is just a likely to air interviews with someone claiming to be a witch as a hard core scientist sharing his or her fascination with quantum physics and string theory.

One of their ‘neatest’ programmes last week featured a linguist who wrote a heavy duty computer programme to monitor key words and detect subtle changes in language used on several (quite a few, quite a ‘large’ few) sites he has his ‘web bots’ monitor.

His findings have been uncanny. His premis is that we’re all ‘physic’ and many of us have no idea that we are. But anyway, he and his partner (His partner is more interested in financial forecasts and stuff like that) were on and talking aobut what they expect will happen in the near future (and it isn’t pretty) But anyway- one of their more humourous (at least I thought it was darkly funny) included quite a few people who consider themselves the “Illuminati”, believe they have a perfect right to run this world as if it was their private little fantasy kingdom, will begin to disappear; like, one second they’re here, the next they’re gone, gone completely, footprints in the sand or snow just stop. This will happen even when the disappearing ones are surrounded by their ‘peers’. This is supposed to scare the livin cement out of the rest of them. (about time, hey?)

I don’t know where to keep my pile of grains of sand, but I’ll be passing them out- and hey, is anybody taking odds?

And what do we do if we find out that this is really happening?

After working my tail off all week I got a bit of sleep today.

Then, needing more sleep, but not being able to fall asleep easily, I decided to meditate. I did meditate, through pain and aches, and felt like I connected with Masters who were willing to answer a few questions. (My prayer “help!” met with, “What do you believe your priorities are?” …1, posture and health so I can meditate without pain and actually get somewhere. 2, I need to clear through a few spititual blocks. 3. I need some more income- (Right now I can’t remember everything that went through my mind)

-I felt like I lost contact with the Master or Guardian Angel, or whatever, who I was communicating with and thought that one of the ‘Help” requests would be “I’d like to keep the Divine two way conversation lines open-” and received the immediate answer, “You are always connected.” ((Yeah, but I can’t always feel it so clearly, and I’d really like to know Who I’m connected with. I’d like my Truth detector to be fine tuned, I want to know I’m not deceiving myself, I want to know how best to please God. I want to know what my options are…)) ((Immediate anser? “Your requests are reasonable.” Silly me, I asked, “Should I take a number? How long is the prayer fulfillment queue ahead of me?” (((I’mlucky God has a sense of humour.)))

–Iwent on to meditate some more (almost an hour and a half in total) and for one interesting moment, I got a glimpse of what I believe must be an alien, being of light, the way he or she appears, not the way we imagine they should appear. I was drifting off into wondering about my higher self, and then I got this glimpse. Probably not me- but I don’t know for sure. very long thin tubular neck and a nearly spherical head. I think this was a female with something like hair in a kind of pony tail on the top of her head. Her skin was almost pure white with a subtle yellow tint. Since I saw this being, I wondered if what I’d seen might have been a statue, but no, when I concentrate, I can feel the intelligence and the emotional warmth coming from her. And, of course, it could be an angel pulling my leg and disguising herself as something I can focus on, to get a quick direct line- like instead of a phone number, she’s got a “focus on this image to get through to me” method of contact?

-Anyway, this is interesting. And I got just enough energy so I’m thinking I’ll be kicking myself later, exhausted at work and then again, too energized to sleep. Let’s hope this does not become self fulfilling snarr-

Thursday, 5/7/9

Posted by Jim - May 7th, 2009

Thursday, May 7th, 2009. 5-7-9 “odd day” is supposedly significant to math freeks.

Museum board meeting. Scott told us that CD stomper labels are frowned upon, because the adhesive can mess up cd’s and dvd’s and Cathi said, yeah, they can also mess up players if the label comes loose or whatever.

So we looked for printers that print right on the cd’s/dvd’s. Epson stylus R280 photo/cd/dvd printer. buck and a quarter Canadian. We can live with that. Yum.

Dreamed my old friend Kathy Krafchick didn’t want to be hugged. I introduced her to Christine R’s daughter “C” and told her that “C” was a pisces too, and when I told her C’s Birthday, C said no, it was the 20th- but the 20th is Kathy K’s… I woke up wondering if I’m trying  to develop the facility to remember numbers from dreams and or psychic events.

Friday- A nice Warm Spring day in Arnprior

Weir River Path...Friday, April 17, 2009

+17˚C/+63˚F in the afternoon.

Let me think- We had an unusual day.

The boy had a doctor’s appointment early and then went to school.

I got paid by my second (in fact of time, first) job and had to cash cheque (in Canada we have cheques, in the U.S. they’re checks) in order to get boy and Mom out of drug store with prescription.

Cathi and I had brunch in an unusual (for us) spot after she got the boy to the school.

When we got home we found two notices that ups had tried to deliver something we’ve been looking for. the first notice said they might try today between 10 and 2 andbetween 2 and 5 pm.

So Cathi got the boy from School. Then took boy to Dad’s and traded him for young woman while I sat here and vegged out in the hopes that UPS might actually make another attempt to deliver. Nope.

But when Cathi and young woman got here we needed a Dairy Queen run and sat almost where the above photo was shot from and watched the river and the weir and the world do their magic while we chomped on ice cream and stuff like that there.

I still think the ‘financial crisis’ is a propaganda campaign, and I still believe the (conservative) Canadian *Government is trying to take advantage of public confusion to try to push through some very schnarr reforms that are on their very schnarr agendae and are not at all in the public interest. {{ (In Canada, “*Government” often refers to the current batch of (fairly recently elected) Members of Parliament, the Prime Minister and the appointed ‘Ministers’ (Senators are still ((as far as we know)) appointed for life up here.) as opposed to the form of government (fer example ‘representative democracy’/’republic’/whathaveyou-) ) }} But then again-

-grumble grumble grumble,

Friday (Good Friday)

Posted by Jim - April 10th, 2009

Arnprior Springtime 2009Friday, Good Friday, April 10, 2009. Charles (Neé ‘Harley’)’s birfday, also “Squirt” ((Porky’s sister) near Ithaca)’s birfday.

+2˚C/+36˚F @ 12:27 pm in Arnprior.

Rob and Vicki were here, we talked about interviews and web sites and stuff, thought we missed a lot of golden opportunities for recording good stuff for the web site, but I thought, hey, call this rehearsal time, not missed opportunities.

We did get our ventures a new web site, www.indigostarcrystalradio.info – yum! it’s supposed to have unlimited data transfer which I think means unlimited bandwidth, I guess we’ll find out.
