We just might survive 2016 —

Sunday, December 11th, 2016 — -19˚C / -3˚F & “Brrrr” in Atlantic Canada @ 8:51 am Atlantic Time — Cuzzin Sarah’s Birthday { heart heart heart } —

Sunrise December 9, 2016

Sunrise Sky Friday, December 9th, 2016 – I couldn’t hold the camera steady enough to get a decent telephoto shot of this. This was me leaning the camera on the top of the chain link fence and holding my breath – What we see and what we can capture with a camera are not always quite the same-

— 2016 has been ‘a Nine year’ numerologically  – [ 2+0+1+6 = 9 ] – which, to people who believe that the numerical values of days and months and years have a psychological and/or spiritual effect on human beings, means it’s a time of ending cycles. Depending on who you talk to or listen to, this is further warped by the number of the month and date – You’re supposed to add the month and date together and use that to modify the year’s number. { So, if you were born on January 1st, you’d add one plus one and hopefully get two and add that to the year’s number, get eleven and either think you were experiencing  a ‘master number’ eleven year or add one and one again and get two and believe you were having yourself a ‘two’ year. – In my case, I was born on September 9th, so 9+9 = 18 and 1+8 = 9 So I might have just lived through most of a double 9 year. Would all my ‘9’ years be doubled? – You’d have to consult with an ‘expert’ numerologist on that one. And of course, you might have to believe that numbers have vibrational power to augment or mess with they human psyche to ‘buy into’ this. Or you could be ‘scientific’ about it and say, “hey, I’m open minded – let’s see if this works-”

— Part of the explanation for what a ‘9’ year is supposed to be all about is that a lot of people will feel like they’ve finished a cycle. And, according to a couple I’ve heard on the radio this last year, a lot of people will figure the cycle they’re finished with is this life on planet earth. You may have noticed that an awful lot of people have checked out/ moved on to hopefully higher planes of existence this last year. My favorite spouse, Cathi, comes home from work too often saying things like, “Hey guess who left us today-?” — Too many wonderful people have moved on to better things this year and left us here, basking in the increasingly toxic atmosphere of whatever is going on in the power struggles of those who believe they should be in charge of the rest of us.

— & I’ve been ‘re-thinking’ a lot of philosophical stuff.

— But I also participated in “NaNoWriMo 2016” – National Novel Writing Month – last month, November – The idea with this is, you commit yourself to writing 50,000 words during the month of November, basically to prove to yourself that you can do that. For the second year in a row I wrote more like 100,000 words on my ‘NaNo Novel’ – & what ya gotta do here is — “Don’t stop and edit it, just get it all down-” and don’t go judging what you’ve got because you can cripple your effort by re-reading and feel the bottom drop out as you tell yourself, “Well, this sux-” and re-play the mind numbing words of everybody who tried to tell you that you’re a worthless piece of doo-doo if you’re not knocking yourself out to live your live by their standards and their rules. And, since they control their game, you can never measure up – hey, they cheat – in their minds they win if they convince you that- “you’ll never amount to anything, so why bother?”

NaNo 2016 Winner Banner

— This year’s ‘Winner’ Banner – tailored to ‘effbook’ standards & size { originally 1500 x 555 pixels }.

— ( I hate sans-serif fonts ) —

NaNo page

— This is the page from the NaNoWriMo web site that tells you you’ve passed their ‘upload your nano novel’ test and should really dig into your pockets and donate whatever $’s you can – They do not engage in the kind of nasty politix that many ‘beedy grastards’ stoop to – they do not try to convince you that you are a worthless piece of doo-doo if you don’t fork over the money you thought you could save to buy one of your favorite people a nice ‘it’s the thought that counts’ holiday presents.

— So I just ‘binge-watched’ all five seasons of ‘Person Of Interest’ on Bell Aliant’s take on a Netflix type service { ‘Crave TeeVee’ } (( And loved the character “Root” who was supposed to be a one episode character but, according to one of the ‘show runners’ had such a cool theme song that they wrote her in as a world class ‘dynamic character’ – Amy Acker’s Voice and expression make me want to ‘create’ and wear a tee shirt that says, “I wasn’t talking to you-” and credit that quote to ‘050313’. ))

— The perfect television programme never made it into any ‘on air’ status or ever looked like anything the ‘-powers who delude themselves into believing they ‘be’-‘ would consider airing for their own gratification and profit… But this one came close.

Moe -- Study in Orange

— Moe — our own little ‘Orange Revolution’ —

— And, once again, Moe gets the last word. I really should record some of our conversations, the plaintive cat, “Maereh Raireh!” and, “Maaw-ou-” &. “Aereh mung muh!” with so many subtle shades of emotional expression. — If I ever completely understand what he’s trying to say, I probably will be ready for a straight jacket – or a halo? —

Tat gets an Emmy.

Tatiana Maslany won the Emmy for Best woman actor in a dramatic series last night.

— Some of our favourites won big at the Emmy’s last night, Tatiana M. (Libra) won Best Woman Actress in a dratmatic series [ title warped by me because I’m sensitive to sensitive sensibilities [[ insert smiley stickin its tongue out here 😉 ]] ] Rami Malek (Taurus) won for best male actor in a dramatic series. & Game of Thrones won 3 Emmy’s last night [ added to the 9 they were awarded for artistic and technical schnarr earlier ] : (1) Best Writers for an episode and (2) Best Director for the same episode [ Battle of the Bastards ] and (3) Best Dramatic Series. 🙂

Good Night Twitter - Sweet Dreams?

— & There was an investigative program on the CBC last night investigating the evils of sugar. The conspiratorial cover-up of the ill effects of sugar preceded the nasty cover up of the ill effects of smoking tobacco. U.S. FDA has to know about this and I don’t think it could have happened without FDA complicity: Diabetes, Heart Disease, Cancer, Obesity, Alzheimers, ‘and more’ can be attributed to the FDA allowing sugar and *especially lately, Genetically Modified Ingredients, ESPECIALLY HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP!* – to remain available on supermarket shelves & in everything most ‘Americans’ (& Canadians) eat.  They interviewed researchers in one study that have found that the typical “North American / Western Diet” — especially over the last ten years with the proliferation of genetically modified high fructose corn syrup — activates Alzheimers Disease and causes brain damage – severely effecting memory. So, if the punishment fits the crime — somebody should incarcerate Bill Gates and force feed him large quatities of junk food, insuring gastro-intestinal distress, Diabetes, and nerve damage, so that he will be forced to reincarnate as a brain damaged infant with severe health issues, live in  extreme poverty with a whole lot of saturnian limitations everywhere he looks. — Schnarr! —

Early Morning – April 21, 2016 – Is The Sun In Taurus?

Thursday, April 21, 2016  — // +5˚C / 41˚F @ 8:19 am on a bright sunny morning with clear air and clear blue skies in Atlantic Canada —

Puffy purple clouds just before sunrise.

We had a few puffy clouds before sunrise, this was at 6:24 am Atlantic Time here.

Deer Hill before the deer arrived today.

This is a different shot of the ‘Deer Hill’. Taken while leaning just over the dog’s fence – with a bit of the house showing on the extreme right.

Several deer grazing on the 'DeerHill'.

Committee Breakfast – 7:25 am. The white deer reflected so much light I had to darken the exposure slightly using the limited tools available in the Preview App.

— There are bits of the white deer’s hair visible to the right of the three or four deer clustered near the center of the photo. I am hoping this wasn’t the result of a deer fight – They’ve had a few kicking sessions, fighting over who gets to eat first. The older deer seem to kick the young ones gently enough – as if they think of that as a ‘gentle reminder’. ‘Whitey’ gets chased away a lot – he or she seems not to be very high on their social scale. Sometimes ‘Whitey’ comes around with one other guy, who looks pretty scruffy – we wonder if these are the ‘outcastes’ or low deer on their totem pole.

— I measured the distance from the corner of the porch to the top of the hill there. At a point that’s just about the edge of the shaggy grass near the right edge of the mini ‘cliff’ in this photo – that point is 12 feet from the corner of the porch. The deer might be another three to six feet from that edge. Fifteen to eighteen feet from the window?

— Sigh. We’re still feeling the effects of knowing that my mother is adjusting to her life in ‘the next world’. Best reports from those I trust to know what that’s like ( I can’t remember, myself – ) report that it can take from a couple weeks to six months before new arrivals ‘on the other side’ go through their orientation and feel comfortable enough to try to get messages through to us over here. Latest explanations are along the lines of “First they relive every pain they ever felt, then they are helped to see and feel every pain they ever caused any other living being.” Um – I won’t be able to verify that for you until after I’ve been through it (again?) And then you’d probably have to be in the same world, same dimension I’ll be in if you’d want to be able to understand what I was trying to tell you. { Go play “The Seeker” by The Who. }

— Enough for today? — Hope I didn’t bring you down completely.

“This Week’s Surprising News Story? Apple Versus The F.B.I.? With Apple Sticking up for Consumer Privacy?” -from —jda—

Copied & Pasted:

= = = = =

Friday, February 19th, 2016  §§ — -7˚C / +19˚F — Clear with a nice warm sun om Atlantic Canada @ 10:45 am  §§  —

People demonstrating against Governments hacking their iPhones.

CBC Radio One News this morning aired a discussion between Those who believe that Apple would give away too much if they caved in to the F.B.I.’s demand that they hand over code to help the F.B.I. crack into the iPhone of accused Terrorists in the recent California mass killings & Those who claim that this would only be a ‘one-off’ event.

— The guy who was arguing that the F.B.I. should be able to protect civilians from terrorists scoffed at the ‘slippery slope’ argument that if Apple gave government agents any help in cracking into their iPhones Then nobody’s privacy would be protected. He called Apple’s argument ‘disingenuous’. — The other side in this discussion did not mention anything about the idea that Government should be the servants of the citizenry, not despotic dictators who believe they should control everything and everybody and should have the right to snoop on everybody’s private thoughts, words and deeds. — The weird thing was, as a kind of aside in this discussion, it was mentioned that young people don’t believe their potential lack of privacy is as big a deal as do older people.

"Truth is Treason in an Empire of Lies"

And – “[Telling The-] Truth is Treason In An Empire Of Lies”

— Whistle-Blowers are often stunned by the revelation that the people they believe they are protecting and defending by maintaining their high level of ethics don’t appreciate their efforts. — I remember hearing one US citizen announce that if he ever saw Ralph Nader crossing a road on a dark night he would not hesitate to attempt vehicular homicide. — This person bought the propaganda put out by the auto industry saying that automobile prices had to rise astronomically because of safety legislation brought on by Ralph Nader’s revealing that the industry knowingly sold vehicles that were “Unsafe At Any Speed”.

— Several Earthquakes in the past couple weeks have also caught my attention, and Earthquakes and Volcanic eruptions were accurately predicted by Astrologer Dr. Luis Turi.

— This will have to be all for now. I have some ‘Real World’ commitments to fulfill.

Wednesday – “Winter Today – Springlike Tomorrow” ?

Wednesday, February 3rd  ∞  -9˚C / +16˚F & snowing in Atlantic Canada @ 11:11 am ∴ I think it might be Ian Anderson’s Birthday ψ

Walking Dogs in Snow Photo

The CBC – Canadian Broadcasting Company – encourages regular people to send in photos and videos. I hope this is not to cut down on the number of employees they might otherwise  need to pay to do that.

— It just took me two hours to wade through a lot of beautiful and sometimes disturbing tweets. Eek.

Jefferson versus Corporations.

– Thomas Jefferson – Author of many famous quotes, including “Banking Establishments are more Dangerous than Standing Armies.” Who’d’a thunk an Aries could be so prophetic?

— I was the recording engineer for an interview between Dr John Battista – a Psychiatrist and Green Party Activist in Connecticut – and David Cobb – a Texas Lawyer who was part of a group that had researched the history of corporations in the United States – and that group was fighting against Corporate Fascism – David Cobb, I do believe, ran for President of the USA as the Green Party Candidate in 2004 – After I had followed my heart to Canada and was trying to first become a permanent resident, and later, a dual citizen of the US & Canada. In 2004 I couldn’t leave Canada – unless I wanted to start the long and expensive process of applying for permanent residency all over again.

— & speaking of evil corporations – Canada has ruled that cable teevee providers must offer channels that they currently only offer as part of bundles – and so lower the cost that consumers need to pay to get what they want. Rogers Cable is blitzing the airwaves with propaganda commercials trying to lure customers into falling for their – “Get our packaged bundles now and lock yourself in to wonderful lower prices for three years!” b.s. — And Bell Aliant – who promised us three years of low prices and later informed us that we misinterpreted what they told us – had MTV in our channel line up on Monday, and no MTV was there on Tuesday, when the Shannara  Chronicles air. So I guess that proves that Bell is definitely on the side of the demons that the ‘Druid’ and the three young hero types in that series are trying to defeat. Yup, Bell is probably one of the bad guys.

Michael Moore advertizing his newest movie.

Michael Moore has another movie about to come out. He’s gotta be one of my favourite people.

— The Mouse that Roared? In Reverse?

Ground Hog Against the TPP

– Well, a groundhog with a social conscience? – Hmm – Don’t’cha wish the politicians and oligarchs who want to rule over you and run your life had as much intelligence and compassion as this guy? 😉

— Your government is lying to you. They want you to voluntarily give up every right and privilege you have. They want to say you voted away your rights. They want to be able to point their fingers at you and say, “They made me do it-” & When they get to Hell, they want to show the devils there that they really were on the side of darkness and deceit, so they can get a job as one of the demons torturing the decent folks they deceived into backing policies and programs that drove other good people into despair and economic slavery.

Fredericton Skies this morning.

But New Brunswick had a spectacular sunrise this morning, and this person from Fredericton caught it digitally on her camera.

— Today’s weather report, “Well, this afternoon we will experience Winter and by tomorrow it will feel like Spring.”

Opportunity or obstacle?

And here’s a bit of daily inspiration from Roy Bennett.

— I do like to have at least something positive to add any time I go through the trouble to write up what I see coming at us via the ‘Tweet-Us-Sphere’ and in real life beyond.

Very interesting waterfall.

And if thoughtfully reassuring words can’t inspire you right now, maybe a photo like this can –

— Looks like another place I’d like to visit and stay for a while.

— But I have other real world stuff to attend to, so I better end here – Have a wonderful, spiritually enlightening day –,

New Look- & Thank You Jassper!

Spooky photo.

Spooky photo of a reflection of me, Jim, taking a picture of my spooky reflection in a window or patio door, or something like that, in 2008.

Okay- We’ve been busy in a lot of areas lately and when we checked this page/ these pages for the first time in months, we found that:  1.) There were 1,942 spam comments waiting to be deleted. & 2.) ‘upgrading’ to a much hyped newer theme can be a pain in the, um, bum.

Jassper, bless his heart, has been fantastic at sitting there, going through the mind-numbing task of making sure none of those spammed comments had anything to say worth allowing them to be approved for, and posted live. I think he said that two out of the first 400 he’s gone through might have been legitimate comments and/or worth checking out.

The new theme, “evolve”, has a couple great features and, as far as our needs and tastes are concerned, a lot of superfluous nonsense-  The developers went way out of their way to make the theme user friendly, probably aimed at the 15 to 35 year old crowd – which means my step son could have whizzed through it at the age of 5. 🙂 But it has some annoying features that I haven’t been able to figure out. The suggested height of a header was “125 pixels”. This like almost everything else about this theme, is customizable. So I changed it to 200 pixels and that worked, for about ten seconds. Then the stupid thing snapped back to showing only 125 of the two hundred pixels of the old header image I had to re-upload. There probably is a setting in here somewhere that I can change, manually, by diving into the code in the code editor, reading through thousands of lines, finding the right line, overwriting the setting with the new numbers, re-saving or ‘updating’ and then sitting back while the wheels spin and hope that when I look at what I think I have just fixed, it just might be what we thought we had all along.

Sigh.

They have some color settings here that are marked “Important!” in the code, as seen through the editor. And I can’t figure out how to get rid of the plain vanilla overly white background all around the guts of the page and put in my own color, or ‘colour’ since we are in Canada. 🙂

And- I wasn’t thrilled with the very green colour block around the ‘sticky’ messages that are supposed to stay at the top of the list of ‘posts’ to be displayed whenever any of you out there in reader/surfer land come pay us a visit. But that may be one of the things in the code that is marked “Important!” And right now, I’m too tired to argue with them or mess with the code to see if changing the color setting launches an ICBM attack on our closest allies or anything.

It also took me between ten and twenty minutes of clicking through all the user friendly options to find the button to push to turn off the ‘featured image’ function, which grabbed the first image in the post and displayed it larger than the image was supposed to be displayed, and displayed it on top of the rest of the article, as a link, so articles with images had a huge honking featured image above itself and then the same image in its normal size down inside the article where it had been told to hang out- and articles with no images included had a huge light gray box with a spooky semi translucent image of a ghost camera above the article, so fraekin huge that the images were often twice the size of the article itself. But I did find that box and clicked it off, grumbling, “We don’t need no stinkin’ featured images.

And Jassper has promised to sit down and delete another couple hundred pieces of garbage ‘comments’ tomorrow and we’re pretty sure we turned off the ability of anybody to post a comment here if they’re not on our staff. So if you really have something to say that we might think is valid and worth posting, you can send it to “jassper@aerendel.org” and if you really want to become another unpaid volunteer here, say so, and we’ll send you a user password set to ‘contributer’ and screen everything you try to post until we’re damned sure we can trust you. Sorry, we only needed to get burned once before we turned hard on potential volunteers.

Don’t tell anybody, I just yawned.

— Thank you — And we hope you find something here that makes your day more enjoyable or at least more informed. And since these pages here are more or less aimed at relatives and close friends, we would probably be surprised if you did find something that really tweaked your interest here. But then, again, you may have found something in/or one of the other pages that fired your enthusiasm, and you can write to jassper and tell him you’d like to contribute to that page, include a user name and either a password that we hope you can change later or we’ll pick one for you. & don’t forget we need your real email address to send you this information.

& I’ve clicked every category we currently have listed as pertaining to this message, and that’s what we’re all about, so far. New categories might explode into our consciousness any time, day or night-

— Have a wonderful day, have a wonderful life time, and a wonderful happily ever after –

March is here, and the snow is pretty darn high.

Sunday, March 2, 2014. (Sally Spencer’s Birthday)

-12˚C / +10˚F @ 11:11 pm.

Lots of snow with a path cut through it.

Woo Hoo Hoo lookin out my back door. (Cathi calls this our front door.) But Credence Clearwater didn’t sing it that way— (This was Mid February)

For those of you who miss the snow- I won’t be the kind of jerk who leers and says, “hell, you can come shovel me out any time you want.” There’s already more than enough of that personality type around.

Driveway dug out of snow.

I think this was the same day, a Monday, garbage day. And the lovely snow plow guys left me a huge ice rock hidden in the three feet high mountain of snow they tried to kill me with. (Anybody who leaves a mountain that high blocking a driveway should be liable, &/or charged with attempted murder, don’tcha think?) That block of ice nearly killed the brand new snowblower. & who knows what kind of consequences broken blades flying around might have had.-

But it is beautiful.

Slightly foggy photo with deer in front of neighbour's van, back of his house.

I think this might have been my Aunt’s birthday, February 26th. There are 3 or 4 deer hanging out in one of my neighbour’s back yard, in front of his van- a foggy stone’s throw from my porch. One of those deer (far left?) might be the nearly invisible white deer who comes around to visit and dares me to get a decent photo of him or her.

Box labeled "Mushroom Farm" with mushrooms growing out of it.

“Mushroom Mini Farm” bought from a local supermarket.

We never quite became snowbound, but I wanted to say, “What do you do when you’re snowbound? You grow mushrooms.” Our favourite local supermarket is part of the Loblaw’s / President’s Choice chain and they had these mushroom mini farms in a very conspicuous place right in front of the “in” doors and Cathi said, “Hmmmm-” (she likes mushrooms.) We ate a few of these and I’m still alive to tell you about it.

Flat panel teevee on a wall with a stained piece of wood to help hold it in place.

Television holding project, still unfinished, but almost there-

Latest Project: Got this far today while it was still light outside. The vertical piece of wood is something we needed to make sure the 3 inch screws the mounting bracket came with: (a) didn’t go through the wall and out through the siding and (b) offered an extra measure of support for that above mentioned bracket. We got the wood from our nearest Kent Hardware store and got the stain from the same place. (I think we got the wood and stain about a month ago-) I got to use my new super spiffy mitre saw to cut the 45 degree supports for the shelf that is still down stairs drying. (tacky) One of our cats believes he owns the bed and had to be scared off with an electric drill and kept away by plunking a guitar case in his favourite spot. Cathi is very much looking forward to actually having a dresser with its mirror up and useable in the very near future.

And I think Mercury is no longer Retrograde as of Friday the 28th. Which is good news to a lot of people I know and care about.

((( Yay! )))

Freezing Rain On Emily’s Birthday

Interesting Shaped Icicle

Oddly shaped icicle growing outside a window on our back porch.

Saturday, January 11th, 2014.

-4˚C / +25˚F @ 1:00 pm with rain freezing and people having a heckuva time getting up the little hill on the corner of our Street and Canada Street.

We had planned to go check out an all day breakfast place that one of our local “spies” had suggested. But the cars going whirrrrrr whirrrrr Whirrrrrrrrr trying to get up that little bit of hill here changed Cathi’s mind before she got both eyes open.

Happy Birthday Emily, Dal and I’m trying to remember what ‘whatsername’  McCarthy’s name was (She lived across Clayton Street from my cousin in the 1990’s- as a kid she wanted to buy a horse and thought they could pick flowers from neighbouring houses’ gardens and sell them on the street corner to make enough money to go buy herself a horse.) 🙂

Also- Yesterday, I wanted to try to get to Home Depot to see if they have the kind of shelf brackets we left behind when we moved here 🙁

I need to build a couple more shelves before I can turn around in the office here without being afraid I’m going to knock something over, break something or slip on something that fell from  somewhere.

(Downloading video clips from flip cam as I type this, in a while I’ll be able to post scary pictures. But not quite as scary as the ones that got away, with one of our neighbours taking mini baby steps to try to inch her way up the hill (more like moving in milimeters, trying to stay vertical, trying to get somewhere  in one piece…..)

Frozen Rain on tree branches.

Frozen Rain on Tree Branches.

Sunday, January 12, 2014.

+7˚C / +45˚F @ 8:15 am. Grey and very wet outside. Puddles on top of ice.

We went to Alex’s new (to him) apartment yesterday for dinner. Stopped to pick up a salad @ the Atlantic Superstore @ the corner of Smythe And Dundonald. Several employees were standing inside the air lock/entrance/exit. Several people were standing outside in the rain waiting to be let in. One man waiting outside announced to newcomers who came along and tried the door that the store had had a power blackout and they were waiting until their computer system, including all the cash registers, was back up and working and nobody knew how long that would take. Ten minutes? Half an hour or longer?

While we were there another couple people approached from the slippery soggy wet icy parking lot and another woman from outside came to the door, unlocked it from the inside and announced that it was going to take longer than they thought it would to get back up and ready to open their doors again.

Cathi and I gave up on that store and went to the Sobey’s on Regent Street.

We had a very nice dinner with Alex. After we got home (stopped on the way to pick up breakfast coffee at the Main Street Tim Hortons) I quickly developed a wicked headache, probably from all the strain of trying to walk on very slick ground.

I took aspirins and plopped on the bed while Cathi tried to listen to Coast to Coast A.M.

This morning it is still very wet. Our road is still ice covered and wet. Our driveway is still icy and has larger & deeper puddles on top of the ice.

We have several things we need to do today, and I need to write quite a few notes and get quite a few late holiday cards and greetings out.

We need to get out and buy more salt, and several other things.

I hope to write more here later.

Fun With Security Cams

4 different shots on one screen

Split screen shot of 4 out of 8 security cams’ feed.

= January 8th, 2014. Natsha F.’s Birthday. =

For Christmas this year, Santa Claus got us a security camera system (partially to see if we can capture anything spiritual with the 100 foot night vision capability). Instructions say “set up the cameras close to the recorder before installing them wherever you want to install them permanently. So far, with all the snow outside and trying to decide exactly where to set up the cameras, the cameras are still inside, cluttering up the office with their cables and showing other office clutter while they cycle by on the screen. It’s a bit odd, now I know more or less what I look like from behind and at other strange angles. (Colours aren’t perfect on 4 of the cameras, but they’re close enough for what we want.  And instead of the bright white ‘Orphan Annie’ eyes they capitalize on spooky teevee shows I have more shots of me with very black eyes to muse over.)

Deer Feeding behind our neighbour's fence

Deer Behind Fence Yesterday.

Wednesday, January 8th, 2014. -16˚C / +4˚F (( Wind Chill = -12˚F)) @ 6:14 am.

Dreamed an epic dream that I was writing a deep, many layered novel. I didn’t know I was dreaming at the time, but I knew I was planning to turn my experiences into a deep epic novel, & wasn’t quite sure where it would go or where it would end.

The part I was  immersed in tonight was a wedding. With all sorts of intrigue as it was probably the first wedding this extended family had ever gone through at a non- smoking facility. Many of the single young men were sleeping in a basement (and I was one of them. Even if I felt like this was my immediate family’s upgraded basement) There was a Moe type Cat sleeping on my chest for at least part of the night before.

There was a lot of cattish behaviour (mostly talk) among the young ladies at the event. Intellectual snobbery, moral snobbery, flirting, triumphant hoots when the not so popular overweight woman was asked to dance by one of the most eligible of the bachelors. Subtle flirting, even the one with the most acid of tongues came close to melting when close to one young man and wanted to hide that from everybody, maybe especially him.

I got the impression there were lesbian undertones at one table, And a lot of “Try not to give the Patriarch / Matriarch a clue as to what any of this is all about.

When I woke up I had a strong impression that there was somebody or some entity walking around the kitchen. The dog growled and Max hissed. I looked at the clock, saw 5:56 (am) and thought someone had turned a light on. I wondered if Cathi was sick, getting up at this hour to find some medication so she could make it through another day of work.

I ended up looking at the ceiling in the living room (I ‘d been sleeping in the chair) and wondering where to put a night vision camera (to stand sentinel for things that go bump in the night.)

I should end this part of today’s journal here with the sound Jassper makes, growling in his sleepiness.

~~~~~Jim (Wednesday, January 8th, 6:26 am) ((anniversary of us moving into 626 Huntington Road in 1959)) Rod McCauley Jr’s Birthday.
Thursday, January 9th, 2014.  -18˚C / 0˚F @ 8:30 am ((Teevee guy said the windchill was -29˚C around 7:30 am)). Clear- cold-
Saturday is supposed to start out at around -18˚C /0˚F and gradually warm to about +8˚C in the evening.  (=+46˚F) We might just start out as snow, get about 4 hours of freezing rain before it turns into all rain… sounds like life will become ineresting on Saturday.
Sunday should be even warmer- with more rain? ((They’re talking +10˚C / 50˚F. ))
When I was trying to see the future for our annual prognostications- I saw a lot of precipitation and a lot of puddles surrounded by snow. (that was January) and so far it looks like I got that right.
Happy Birfday Joe Lockery & Strange day in this neck of the woods.
Tuesday, November 26, 2013.  +1˚C /34˚F Where We’re at. Joe Lockery’s Birfday.
Weather ‘Event’ coming tomorrow?
Today: The power went out at exactly 10:00 am. And Came Back on at exactly 10:45 am.
Internet never did come back. (We have a technician coming tomorrow between 8 and 11:30 am to hopefully fix that.)
10,000 year old settlement discovered by archeologists in Israel. They’re saying it dates from the first time wandering humanoids decided to park themselves in one place and inhabit permanent homes.   —Will they ever learn? There’s a whole lotta more history than they know about (or than they will admit to knowing about… why would they insist on screaming at us that we have only been sentient in this form for 4,000 years or so when the bleeping Sphinx is at least 10,500 years old. And how old are the ruins at Gobekli Tepe (“Go-Beckly-Teppy”) ?
Gaaaa- I have to go bye bye to let an “Important Security Update” attack my computer.
But First—> Are these Security Updates Making our lives & computers More Secure or are they “data-mining” our computers & sending the results to insidious NSA types?
