I Wish
(Sasha's poem)

I wish

I knew why

The smallest things

Go lightly into

Darkest night

Why tears run

Hot and quiet

When they should be

Loud and cold

Cats paws, soft

Claws sharp

Aren't always

Enough.

Calicos sport

Mustaches

Spotted cats

Have jungle hearts

My little flower

We hardly knew you

Long enough

I suppose

That to say

Sweet dreams

To a cardboard box

Soft full

Is harder than

I wish.
