King’s Landing, New Brunswick, # Two – October 2013

Period Inn in King's Landing, New Brunswick.

This is outside the front door of a functioning inn inside King’s Landing theme park in New Brunswick. We were there on the weekend before Canadian Thanksgiving, which is usually the same day as Columbus Day in the USA. This was in 2013.We had an authentic Thanksgivig meal served by waitresses wearing period dress, The walls in the dining rooms showed signs of candles or lanterns buring in candle or lantern holders, with the wallpaper slightly blackened from the smoke. The food was excellent. ~~~ TaleRocker

King’s Landing- New Brunswick.

riding in a horse drawn wagon.

King’s Landing, New Brunswick, is a theme park on the St John River that contains many buildings that were brought there from the surrounding area and has been set up and run as if it was caught in the past. If this isn’t the photo I hoped it was, I will delete it and try again. This was shot while riding in the back of an authentic horse drawn wagon.  ~~~ TaleRocker

“Mer” man in an underwater oxygen rich atmosphere inside a water-tight sphere.

Mer guy in breathable atmosphere underwater

In the game we’re developing, the Mer are a race of aquatic Elvish with extra chambers in their lungs, the ability to stay underwater for up to an hour, and a gland in their foreheads similar to what dolphin’s have, which gives them the ability to stun their enemies. This ability takes a long time and a lot of practice before it could be abused in combat situations, it would be much better as a defensive weapon than an offensive one. This scene is supposed to be inside an oxygen rich spherical bubble underwater.  ~~~TaleRocker

Another Photo of Arnprior’s Weir

The Weir om February of 2007.

“The Weir In Winter” From February 27, 2007 – This would have been the second day I was working for the cable teevee company in Arnprior and my assignment was to take still photos around town to replace the shots that had been playing on the bulletin board for months. This is one of my all time favourite photos of the Arnprior area. Not that it has a lot of artistic integrity or anything, but because it made a great background photo on my computer screen. I still use if for that- It cycles through on several of my Macs ( I often have three going at once ) as the desktop photos change every five minutes. I have one folder that has Godzilla for an icon and I sit it on the piece of ice that’s floating toward the curved man made dam that gives the weir its identity and its name. ~~~~~TaleRocker

October Sunset, Fredericton, New Brunswick, 2013

silhouette of a boy at river's edge at sunset

We’ve seen some spectacular sunsets since we moved to this area. This was one of the best- Photograph taken on October 6th or 7th, 2013 at the boat launch area at the Gibson Street extension on the north side of Fredericton. The boy was skipping rocks a few minutes earlier, but we couldn’t get an unrecognizable boy skipping rocks and a near perfect sunset lined up right. ~~~TaleRocker

Planting Trees in Valhalla Valley –

Avatars in a game world

Catya, a builder character rolled and used by our real-life DreamCat (whose name I got wrong when I added this user account to this blog- oops – I may have to delete us and try again, but there will be at least one corroborated work of ours coming from this misspelled user account up here- I think if one user gets deleted anything they uploaded or wrote here ‘reverts’ to the original lunatic who installed the blog and set it up. 🙂 Volffe is not peeing in that bush behind ‘Catya’s back. I moved him into ‘hiding’ to take that screen shot and he wasn’t as well hidden as I thought- ~~~TaleRocker~~~

Runaway Mountains? I hope I will not be hearing “Sail Away” until I drop off into dream land-

Builder character staring at a runaway mountain.

If World-Building was simple – everybody would be doing it, ya think? After carefully molding mountains, planning pathways, planning ambush spots and sanctuaries- and then painfully stitching two or more – in this case 4 – areas together, things sometime go wrong. It’s more than a little frustrating, and you might never know exactly what caused the failure. Here one of us was ‘standing behind’ the cute blond avatar building character when one section of the world suddenly jumped several kilometers to the SouthWest- It can be funny when you haven’t just spent five hours carefully knitting the areas together and checked all the seams a dozen times-  ~~~TaleRocker~~~
