–Lost another one–

Friday, September 3, 2010. (hot and muggy in Arnprior, promise of thunder storms later)

– Thankfully, I couldn’t get into my email yesterday. (Thankfully because I probably could not have functioned at work last night if I had gotten the news.)

Roger French is no longer “among the living” in this gawd-awful environment.

—Thing is,  I’m hearing some stupid, nasty, judgmental comments about the way he checked out. And, while Roger wasn’t exactly a model citizen according to most idiots’ standards, he certainly was a unique and valuable (if quirky) member of the human race. He had a system of values that did not always align perfectly with my own, but everybody in southern Vermont knew that if they messed with Roger’s family, they would  probably live just long enough to regret that, deeply.

& He was probably worth at least ten of the sort of people who are sitting back and passing judgment here.

— Have a better life on the other side, Roger-

Cousin Glenn

Posted by Jim - July 14th, 2010

My cousin Glenn, who died just after his 50th birthday in the year 2000, spent what felt like about half an hour with me in dreamland. I think it had something to do with mechanic stuff on cars. I told him he’d been back since he’d died at least once before and he said, “Oh yeah?” and went on to tell me about somebody who shook his hand, but the hand shake was an energy ‘AWOL’ (or something like that, the exact word before AWOL has disappeared from my brain in the time it took me to get to the computer.) I didn’t ask any questions between the time he mentioned the something AWOL and went on to explain that whomever had shaken his hand in that manor wanted to check to see if he’d been killed in a car crash or something.

I’m not sure the conversation means a heck of a lot, but I always appreciate these visits and my cousin Glenn has shown me some very interesting places on the other side when he’s come around, (Thanks!)

Morning Glories Climbing the porch-Monday, September 14th, 2009.

I think it got up around 24˚C, (78˚F?) and then it cooled when some intense rain came ripping through during the evening.

We had our electricity cut off from something like 9 am to 1 pm (I think it was more like 1:30 PM, when the electricity came back, but the clock had a 9 volt battery, back up- and it gained at least fifteen minutes while the lights were out.

But anyway, I tried to get the Morning Glories that Cathi planted beside the front porch, and I thought it came out fairly close to what I think it actually looks like.

-Um, yeah, well- It was a nice enough day.

Step Daughter growing up

Erin signs while Cathi beams w/prideSaturday, 8 August, 2009

We drove to Pembroke to look at a room in a house with college students. The owner only got into being a landlord because he had so much trouble finding a place for his son to live while going to Algonquin College in Pembroke. I was impressed by the guy. He is either one of the world’s best con artists or he is very sincere.

My step daughter was also impressed (she’s been having a heckuva time trying to find a room up there, as soon as a room is posted at the college web site, it’s gone.) She did have a couple of qualms, but they seemed to be answered well. And in the photo to the left, she is signing the contract with her mum happily beaming over her daughter growing up in the background.

Wednesday, Cuzzin Joe’s Birthday.

Cuzzin Joe’s Birthday (Lori’s Husband)

Finished editing the monday night meeting, went into momentary panic thinking the boy, who is seeing his behavour coach after school on wednesdays, would have a melt down over needing to get into the house and get some money for something he gets into his head that he can’t live without. (and he will disrupt anything to let you know he is not going to be happy or let you live in peace if he doesn’t get it.) (he doesn’t neccessarily get his way this way with me, but Cathi will tell me I’m just being mean and give in to him. (One person’s “Tough love” is another person’s”That’s just being mean.”) Oh- I was in the studio when boy might have needed to break into house and get some money for whatever. They didn’t come banging on studio door. I guess things went okay.

Then we picked the boy up at the lake (his coach’s place) and had a nice talk with her new guy. (he’s a really nice guy. Cathi, boy, coach and coach’s spouse are all life path “7″s. hmmmmm-

I don’t know, I just might survive this week. And just when I think it’s almost more than I can take, Cathi complains that I don’t have to get up at 5 and drive into Ottawa and put up with contracting for 9 hours and then drive home for another hour and have to face our part time job for another hour and…. oh never mind.

Cameras being set upMonday, April 27, 2009. ((Uncle Tom’s Birthday))

I forgot what the weather was.

It’s almost a week later.

I could probably use the excuse that I have been worn out since the telethon on Sunday the 26th.

This photo is the Knights of Columbus Hall at Saint John Chrystostom (could be spelled wrong) here in Arnprior. We were just beginning to set up the cameras

I’m thinkin the tallest tripod on the left is the Jib- the camera that can get shots from ‘way up high’ near the ceiling. I don’t think I got any really good photos of anybody using he jib in action. We were too busy during the telethon.

Friday- A nice Warm Spring day in Arnprior

Weir River Path...Friday, April 17, 2009

+17˚C/+63˚F in the afternoon.

Let me think- We had an unusual day.

The boy had a doctor’s appointment early and then went to school.

I got paid by my second (in fact of time, first) job and had to cash cheque (in Canada we have cheques, in the U.S. they’re checks) in order to get boy and Mom out of drug store with prescription.

Cathi and I had brunch in an unusual (for us) spot after she got the boy to the school.

When we got home we found two notices that ups had tried to deliver something we’ve been looking for. the first notice said they might try today between 10 and 2 andbetween 2 and 5 pm.

So Cathi got the boy from School. Then took boy to Dad’s and traded him for young woman while I sat here and vegged out in the hopes that UPS might actually make another attempt to deliver. Nope.

But when Cathi and young woman got here we needed a Dairy Queen run and sat almost where the above photo was shot from and watched the river and the weir and the world do their magic while we chomped on ice cream and stuff like that there.

Yummmmm-

I still think the ‘financial crisis’ is a propaganda campaign, and I still believe the (conservative) Canadian *Government is trying to take advantage of public confusion to try to push through some very schnarr reforms that are on their very schnarr agendae and are not at all in the public interest. {{ (In Canada, “*Government” often refers to the current batch of (fairly recently elected) Members of Parliament, the Prime Minister and the appointed ‘Ministers’ (Senators are still ((as far as we know)) appointed for life up here.) as opposed to the form of government (fer example ‘representative democracy’/'republic’/whathaveyou-) ) }} But then again-

-grumble grumble grumble,

"Easter with Bridge and Weir"Wednesday, April 15th, 2009 (Income Tax Deadline in the US.)

I think it got up to about 14˚C/58˚F in Arnprior.

Yeesh. The boy has decided he should get up at 6:30 or even earlier in the morning, wash up and do long term homework projects before going to school. He was angry at me for not knowing that and for not waking him up at six o five this morning when his alarm clock failed (do to operator error?) I want to tell him that if he wants to get up at something other than what has been his normal time, well, that’s his responsibility and he can’t expect me or his mother to wake him up under those conditions.

Schnarr-

Friday (Good Friday)

Arnprior Springtime 2009Friday, Good Friday, April 10, 2009. Charles (Neé ‘Harley’)’s birfday, also “Squirt” ((Porky’s sister) near Ithaca)’s birfday.

+2˚C/+36˚F @ 12:27 pm in Arnprior.

Rob and Vicki were here, we talked about interviews and web sites and stuff, thought we missed a lot of golden opportunities for recording good stuff for the web site, but I thought, hey, call this rehearsal time, not missed opportunities.

We did get our ventures a new web site, www.indigostarcrystalradio.info - yum! it’s supposed to have unlimited data transfer which I think means unlimited bandwidth, I guess we’ll find out.

Thursday, Long weekend coming-

Posted by Jim - April 9th, 2009

Early Spring In Arnprior....b?Thursday, April 9, 2009. Irene Adzima’s Birthday.

0˚C/32˚F @ 8 am in Arnprior.

Exhausted- I’m stumbling around in a daze.

What I’m dealing with is- What Should I concentrate on right now? Should I go with setting up an internet radio station first or try to work on developing a role playing game that may or may not bring in an income that may start out as a trickle and gain momentum? Both tracks are aimed at aiding the Spiritual Evolution of the Human Race.

We took the boy to his father’s for the Holiday Weekend, got stuck in traffic and went to Rob’s surprise birthday party on the way home.

-RE: Plans for the future- Rob’s daughter in England and a Movie producer in Lost Angeles have both commented on the interview Rob and I recorded and which is available at : http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread450624/pg1# (and both comments were positive).

-RE: Canadian Politics. I’m hearing loads of people exclaiming, “What a [fupping] idiot-!” when the latest news about the prime minister’s comments on just about anything airs on the radio.

-RE: Communicating with friends… I sent a dvd and short letter to my friends in Vermont (finally). Now I only have a couple dozen more to catch up with…

I should probably quit while I’m ahead, or at least: while I’m still suffering with the delusion that I’m ahead.

Photo: There are a lot of black squirrels up here. This one is pretty near the beach that is part of Robert Simpson Park. (I do not believe that Robert is related to Bart…) ;)
